United Way is a local catalyst

By Dave Goodin and Dr. Craig Lambrecht

During this holiday season, as we enjoy family and friends and count the many blessings in our lives, we hope you will remember those in our community who are struggling.

As the 2012 United Way campaign co-chairmen, we have seen firsthand the despair many of our neighbors are experiencing. Families are finding themselves without a place to live, seniors are struggling to live independently, children are arriving to school unprepared and behind in their studies and mothers are left with no choice but to leave home with their children when faced with domestic violence.

However, we have also had the opportunity to witness the unmistakable generosity of this community and the incredible work performed by many organizations to help these individuals in need.

With your help, Missouri Slope Areawide United Way funds 33 partner agencies that improve lives by meeting basic and emergency needs, strengthening children and families and promoting health and independence.

Without question, Bismarck-Mandan and the surrounding area make up a better, stronger community because of the impact our partner agencies make on a daily basis.

United Way is a catalyst in the community, mobilizing resources and establishing partnerships to create permanent, research-driven solutions to the area’s most pressing issues.

This shift to the community impact model ensures your donor dollars are used efficiently to target community-wide issues.

We all have a stake in creating a prosperous community. We invite you to join us by investing in our community. Ninety-nine percent of your donation stays local.
